Development at Bedford Modern School
Development, as part of the Bedford Modern School Family, takes responsibility for the development, organisation and administration of all fundraising activities in support of the School. The magnificence and generosity of all the supporters to the School is very much appreciated and it is this support that is vital to the School’s future.
The Headmaster and his Governors have made the provision of additional bursaries encapsulated within the new ‘Modern Awards' Scheme’ as a principal development priority and which was launched last Autumn. This is both to assist existing parents who have difficulty matching the fees required and to widen access to attract boys and girls with ability; academically, sporting and in the performing arts, who otherwise might be denied the outstanding opportunities that Bedford Modern School provides.
In addition to increasing bursary provision there is an extensive programme of minor and major projects, as well as visionary capital building programmes that will not succeed without the support of development. Furthermore, support is required to fund improvements and developments to key academic, sporting and performing arts facilities which are realistically outside of those funds derived solely from tuition fees.
