Annual Fund 2006 – 2007

Last year’s inaugural Annual Fund campaign proved to be very successful not only in terms of fundraising but also in terms of cementing many long lasting relationships between the School and its alumni and parents.

Funds were raised for our premier portable aluminium cricket cages which were in place and in use during last year's cricket season allowing more access to training for the Schools’ budding cricketers.

The Geography Department were able to purchase a state of the art Geographic Information System (GIS) enabling students to capture, manage, analyse and display different geographical information and putting them at the forefront of geography education.

The Music Department benefited and continues to benefit from the generosity of our donors allowing them to buy many stock instruments for pupils to rent. Much of the funding has also gone towards supporting students who have shown promise and talent with a particular instrument which may be very specialist and therefore expensive to buy.

A machine to help the Library Department oversee the complex job of ensuring that all books which go out come back in again has been bought thanks to the help of last year's donors.

On the 25th September 2007 a reception was held in the School's Rutherford Building by way of a small thank you to our kind supporters, many of whom have already donated to the 2007 – 2008 Annual Fund! The Head used this event as an opportunity to launch the new Annual Fund and to talk passionately about one of our areas of real focus now and into the future – the Modern Awards, which this year's Annual Fund is helping to raise funds for. We hope to see many more of you at this year's reception!
