Bedford Modern School are delighted to name the School’s new Rowing Eight Boat ‘Real-Time’. The School is grateful to the boats sponsors, VocaLink, the leading international payment transaction specialist for their generosity and support for rowing.
Bedford Modern School have been enjoying an excellent season and so far the 1st VIII team have not been beaten racing the boat in Regattas. Stephen Smith, Headmaster said “we are extremely grateful to VocaLink for their support and proud of our association with them in what is proving to be a winning team”.
VocaLink is a specialist provider of transaction services. On a peak day, the VocaLink automated payment platform processes over 90 million transactions and over half a billion in a month. The boat is named after their Real Time Payments Platform which provides the central infrastructure for the UK Faster Payments Service.
The boat was named at a small event on Friday 19 June at the Harper Trust Boathouse. Attending were the chief executive officer of VocaLink Marion King and her husband whose sons attend the School, members of the VocaLink leadership team and guests, the Headmaster, Director of Sport and Director of Rowing.
Marion King commented ‘VocaLink is delighted to present the new Rowing Eight boat, ‘Real time’ to the Bedford Modern School. The rowing team have achieved some fantastic results and like our payment systems are all about speed and never-fail certainty. We hope that the ‘Real time’ will inspire all BMS rowers to accomplish even greater success".
